From rain to shine, and shine to rain
Today transitioned from rain to sunshine and then back to rain.

Today started with a very peaceful rain. Our son asked to take his umbrella to school because “wet outside, very wet outside.”
By the time we returned from dropping him off—about 10 minutes later—the rain had stopped, leaving behind only a delicate drizzle.
Since it’s winter, even on sunny days, it’s still dark at 7:30 am. On rainy or cloudy days, it’s practically night at that time!
After breakfast, we decided it was time to draw back the blinds and curtains, ready to embrace the day. To our surprise, we were were greeted by the surprisingly bright world outside.
The partially cloudy partially clear sunny sky persisted until the afternoon, when it started to rain on and off, on and off. The rain alternated between really strong downpours and calm, peaceful showers.
The pictures below were taken in the afternoon, after the sunny half of the day and just before the rain began.
A breathtaking spectacle unfolded before us: dark, heavy clouds looming over the ocean, as though they were guardians, casting an air of both threat and majesty.
