BounceBack Bungee Fitness has opened at Gants Centre in Strand, offering bungee fitness classes, kids’ fitness, senior workouts and private group sessions.
Helderberg residents looking for a different way to stay active now have a new fitness option to explore.
BounceBack Bungee Fitness has officially opened at The Courtyard, Unit 9, First Floor, Gants Centre, Gerber Boulevard, Strand, introducing dedicated bungee fitness classes to the local community. The studio announced its opening in late August and joins the growing number of specialised fitness businesses establishing themselves across the Helderberg.
A Different Approach to Fitness
Unlike a traditional gym, BounceBack focuses on bungee fitness—a workout that combines cardio, strength training and functional movement while participants are supported by bungee cords attached to a ceiling-mounted harness system. The support provided by the harness is designed to reduce the impact on joints while still delivering a full-body workout, making it an alternative to more conventional forms of exercise.
According to the studio, classes cater for a range of fitness levels, from first-time participants to those looking for a more challenging workout. Rather than following a single class format, BounceBack offers several programmes with different focuses, allowing members to choose sessions that best suit their goals.
Classes for Different Ages and Fitness Goals
Alongside its core bungee fitness classes, the studio’s timetable includes Strength & Conditioning, Rebuild & Restore, TaeBox Fusion, Zuna™ and BounceBack Bootcamp, giving members a choice of workouts that combine strength, mobility, endurance and cardio-based exercise.
The studio also caters to different age groups. Its Golden Gliders programme has been developed specifically for adults aged 60 and over, with low-impact sessions designed to help improve mobility, balance and strength in a supportive environment. According to BounceBack, no previous fitness experience is required, making the classes accessible to a wide range of participants.
For younger residents, the BounceBack Kids Club offers movement-based fitness classes that combine play, coordination and exercise. The sessions are designed to help children develop balance, strength, confidence and teamwork while encouraging them to stay active in a fun, age-appropriate setting.
More Than Weekly Fitness Classes
Beyond its regular class schedule, BounceBack also hosts birthday parties, bachelorette celebrations, private group sessions and corporate team-building events. These sessions allow groups to experience bungee fitness together in an instructor-led environment and offer another activity option for celebrations or workplace events in the Helderberg.
The studio has also been fitted with a range of amenities for visitors, including free parking, lockers, shower facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi, water refill stations, and all the required bungee harnesses and workout equipment supplied for classes. A dedicated chill-out area provides space for members to relax before or after their sessions.
The website also highlights Dominique’s Beauty Studio, where visitors can book a range of beauty and wellness treatments, including massages, facials, nail services, lash treatments and professional makeup. For those planning a workout or spending time at the venue, it’s another service available at the location.
Another New Addition to the Helderberg
The opening of BounceBack Bungee Fitness adds another option to the Helderberg’s growing health and fitness scene. Alongside traditional gyms, Pilates studios, yoga classes and boutique fitness centres, residents now have access to another specialised workout concept within the area.
It’s also encouraging to see another business choosing to invest in the Helderberg, continuing the steady growth of services available to local residents. Whether bungee fitness becomes part of someone’s regular exercise routine, a family activity through the Kids Club, a low-impact option for older adults, or simply something new to experience with friends, it’s another addition that broadens the range of recreational opportunities now available across Strand and the wider Helderberg.
