Skin by Lieshen has officially opened its new Somerset West skincare studio, creating an intimate space focused on personalised treatments, skin health and client care.
Skin by Lieshen has officially opened its doors in Somerset West, turning months of planning and preparation into a dedicated skincare studio for clients.
Founded by Lieshen Smit, a qualified skin therapist and registered member of the SAAHSP, the studio opened on 8 April 2026, following a period of behind-the-scenes work that Lieshen documented as the space gradually came together.
A New Space for Skin Health and Self-Care
For Lieshen, opening the studio marked more than simply moving into a new workspace. In the weeks leading up to the opening, she shared glimpses of the journey, describing the space as a calm and intimate environment created with intention, with the client’s comfort and experience at its heart.
By move-in day on 18 March, Lieshen said it felt surreal to finally step into the space not as a project, but as her studio. That sense of anticipation culminated on 8 April, when she announced that Skin by Lieshen was officially open.
The studio’s approach brings together professional skincare and personalised treatments, with Lieshen describing her work as being centred around skin health, confidence and client care.
A Personal Approach to Skincare
Rather than presenting the studio simply as somewhere to have a treatment, Lieshen’s vision is clearly rooted in creating an experience around it. She describes Skin by Lieshen as a place “where results meet relaxation, where science meets luxury” with treatments tailored to each client’s individual needs.
The studio is also a stockist of Lamelle Research Laboratories, adding the South African skincare brand’s science-based products to its offering.
But ultimately, the heart of Skin by Lieshen appears to be the person behind it. From the months spent preparing the space to the excitement of finally welcoming clients through the door, Lieshen has shared an unusually personal look at the journey of turning her idea into something tangible.
And now, after all that preparation, Skin by Lieshen has moved from behind-the-scenes plans to a real Somerset West studio where clients can finally experience the space for themselves.
