Bootlegger Coffee Company Opens at Somerset Mall, Becoming the Fifth Helderberg Location

Bootlegger Coffee Company has opened at Somerset Mall in Somerset West, becoming the fifth Bootlegger café serving the Helderberg region.

If you’ve been shopping at Somerset Mall recently, you may have noticed another new addition. Bootlegger Coffee Company has officially opened at Somerset Mall, bringing one of South Africa’s best-known café brands to the shopping centre and adding another coffee stop for visitors.

The café is located at Shop 210A on the ground floor near Entrance 3, with Somerset Mall announcing the opening on social media.

The Fifth Bootlegger in the Helderberg

While many locals will already be familiar with Bootlegger, some may be surprised to learn just how established the brand has become in the area. The Somerset Mall branch joins four existing Helderberg locations:

• Bootlegger Strand – 188 Beach Road, Strand
• Bootlegger Somerset West – 42 Caledon Street, Somerset West
• Bootlegger Gordon’s Bay – Old Cape Mall, 33 Beach Road, Gordon’s Bay
• Bootlegger XS Paardevlei Halaal – Paardevlei Sentrum, Gardner Williams Avenue, Firgrove

That means there are now five Bootlegger Coffee Company cafés spread across Somerset West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay, making it one of the most established coffee chains in the Helderberg.

What You Can Expect

Bootlegger has built a loyal following for its Specialty Grade Coffee, alongside an all-day menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch.

Whether you’re meeting friends over coffee, grabbing something to eat between shopping, or looking for a place to work for an hour or two, the café also offers free Wi-Fi, a children’s menu and takeaway options.

The Somerset Mall branch is open daily from 08:00 to 19:00.
