Burger King Drive-Thru Signage Appears at Caltex Auto West Delta Site in Somerset West

Construction activity has picked up at the Caltex Auto West Delta site on Victoria Street, Somerset West, where Burger King drive-thru signage has now appeared.

If you’ve driven along Victoria Street in Somerset West recently, you may have noticed that something significant is happening at the Caltex Auto West Delta site.

For quite some time, the property at 50 Victoria Street, Audas Estate, opposite TimBuild Somerset West, appeared relatively quiet, with little visible progress taking place. Over the past few weeks, however, the site has become noticeably busier, with construction activity increasing day by day.

It’s a route my family travels every weekday on the school run, and watching the pace of work pick up has been hard to miss. Each morning and afternoon there seems to be more happening than the day before, suggesting the project is moving steadily forward.

Burger King Drive-Thru Taking Shape

The biggest clue about what’s coming is now impossible to miss. Large Burger King Drive-Thru signage has been installed on the property, clearly visible from Victoria Street. While no opening date has been announced, the branding suggests preparations are well underway for what appears to be a new Burger King drive-thru restaurant.

The signage at the entrance also indicates that the restaurant will be Halal Certified. The displayed trading hours are 07:00 to 22:00 from Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 00:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 07:00 to 22:00 on Sunday.

With the signage now in place and construction continuing at pace, it certainly looks as though the development is entering a new phase.

Vida e Caffè Also Coming to the Site

Adding to the excitement, a Vida e Caffè is also set to form part of the redevelopment. The Vida e Caffè signage is now up on site, providing another clear indication of what motorists and residents can expect once the work is complete.

With both Burger King and Vida e Caffè branding now visible, the site is starting to give a much clearer picture of the new food and coffee offering taking shape at the Victoria Street location.

Still Awaiting Official Confirmation

While several pieces of the puzzle are now falling into place, there are still a few details that have not yet been officially confirmed.

One of the most noticeable recent changes is the installation of Astron Energy Quartech branding across the forecourt canopy. Quartech is Astron Energy’s latest premium fuel range, featuring its new 4-in-1 fuel technology, and its appearance on site strongly suggests the service station is being redeveloped as an Astron Energy forecourt rather than remaining under the Caltex brand. Astron Energy has been progressively rebranding former Caltex service stations across South Africa as part of its nationwide rollout.

What has not yet been confirmed is whether the redevelopment includes any additional upgrades to the forecourt, convenience offering or other facilities beyond the new Burger King drive-thru.

I’ve reached out for more information and will update the Helderberg community as soon as I can confirm exactly what’s planned for the site. For now, with the Burger King Drive-Thru signage in place, the new Astron Energy Quartech branding now installed, and construction activity continuing to gather pace, this is clearly one development worth keeping an eye on.
