New MessMakers Preschool Campus Opens at Bizweni in Somerset West

MessMakers has opened a new preschool campus at Bizweni in Rome Glen, Somerset West, catering for up to six children from walking age to four years.

MessMakers Bizweni Campus officially opened on 15 July 2026, giving families in and around Rome Glen another preschool option.

I reached out to MessMakers to find out more about the new campus, including how it works, what makes it different and what parents can expect.

The campus forms part of the existing MessMakers offering and follows the same MessMakers curriculum as its other branch.

What makes this particular campus stand out is its deliberately small size.

A very small preschool setting

The campus has a maximum of six children, with a 3:1 ratio of children to adults, consisting of a teacher and an assistant.

The campus caters for children from walking age to four years.

The small group means children spend their days in a setting where the group itself remains quite small, while still following the MessMakers curriculum.

Learning through play

The day follows a structured play-based routine.

Children start with greetings before moving into around an hour of free play, followed by lunch. The day then moves into the theme of the week, with activities including discussion, painting and clay.

There is also time for dance, singing and storytelling.

Although the approach is play-based, the campus says it follows the MessMakers curriculum.

What does it cost?

For parents considering the campus, the 2026 preschool fees are structured according to the number of days a child attends.

Children can attend two, three or five days a week:

  • Two days: Tuesday and Thursday, 07:30 to 12:30, R2,050 per month
  • Three days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 07:30 to 12:30, R2,870 per month
  • Five days: Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 12:30, R4,495 per month

There is also optional aftercare.

For two days a week, aftercare costs R295 per month until 14:00 or R505 until 16:00.

For three days, it is R380 until 14:00 or R590 until 16:00, while five-day aftercare costs R475 until 14:00 or R790 until 16:00.

Growing through word of mouth

The Bizweni campus is still very new and has not yet done much formal advertising.

The team says it has largely been growing through word of mouth, with families gradually finding out about the new campus. It joins the existing MessMakers offering in Heldervue, giving families another way to access the preschool’s approach.

More to come

The new campus is also planning to introduce weekend programmes in the future, although details about those programmes have not yet been announced.

For now, MessMakers Bizweni is settling into its new home, with its small-group approach and play-based routine forming the basis of the preschool day.

For parents with young children in the area, it is another preschool option to know about, particularly for families looking for a smaller group environment.
