Waterworld Strand Reopens for the 2026/27 Summer Season

Waterworld Strand is reopening for the summer season on 15 September 2026, with water slides, pools, play areas, a café and family-friendly facilities.

The weather is starting to warm up, and Waterworld Strand is getting ready to reopen for another summer season.

The beachfront water park will welcome visitors again from Tuesday, 15 September 2026, marking the start of its new summer season at Beach Road in Strand, right alongside the beach.

For families with young children, Waterworld has always offered a fairly simple kind of day out: arrive, find a patch of grass, let the kids burn off some energy on the slides and play areas, and settle in for a while. There are grassy areas for relaxing, benches with umbrellas for picnics, as well as toilets and changing rooms on site.

What to Expect This Season

The park’s mix of water slides, pools and play areas will be back in operation for the summer season, with space to move between the more energetic activities and quieter moments under the umbrellas.

There is also the Waterworld Café, which means you don’t necessarily have to pack every snack and drink for the day. The menu includes breakfast buns, toasted sandwiches, a traditional Vienna hotdog, hot chips, a beef burger, ice cream, slushies and cold drinks. A selection of chips and sweets is also available, along with Marcel’s Frozen Yoghurt from next door.

For those planning a birthday or group outing, the venue has undercover tables for parties, while picnic benches with umbrellas are available for families who want to spend a little longer there.

Waterworld Strand Opening Hours

The summer operating season runs from September to April.

During Western Cape school holidays and public holidays, Waterworld is open daily from 09:00 to 18:00. The park also operates from 09:00 to 18:00 on Western Cape school-term weekends.

On school-term weekdays, the park is closed on Mondays, while it opens from 13:00 to 18:00 from Tuesday to Friday.

Waterworld is closed on Christmas Day.

Waterworld Strand Prices

The current general admission prices listed by Waterworld are based on how long you plan to stay:

  • A one-hour pass costs R150 for water-sliders and R35 for spectators.
  • A two-hour pass costs R195 for water-sliders and R45 for spectators.
  • An all-day pass is R290 for water-sliders and R140 for spectators.
  • There is also a mid-week half-day pass after 13:00, priced at R230 for water-sliders and R75 for spectators.

Children aged 0 to 12 months enter free, while children aged 1 to 2 years pay R65. From age three, the normal admission rate applies.

The admission fee covers use of the facilities for the selected time period.

Season Tickets Are Also Available

For families who know they will be back more than once, Waterworld is also offering season tickets. The 2025/2026 season tickets are valid until 1 May 2027.

Family water-slider season tickets start at R1,450 for the first ticket, with reduced prices for additional family members. Season spectator tickets are also available at R600 per person.

The season tickets are non-transferable, and photographs are taken for verification.

A Beach Day With a Difference

One of the things that makes Waterworld easy to enjoy is simply where it is. You’re right next to Strand beach, but once you’re inside the park, there’s grassy space, seating and shaded areas to break up the day between the slides and pools.

There is no dedicated parking area for Waterworld, so visitors will need to use the available public and municipal parking around the Strand beachfront.

For local families, the return of Waterworld is one of those little signs that summer is on its way. The slides are about to start running again, the days are getting longer, and another season of wet children, picnic lunches and beachside afternoons is just around the corner.
