Freedom Adventure Park is opening at Somerset Mall in Somerset West with a brand-new fully themed South African-first attraction. Family fun, birthday parties & more coming soon.
If you’re always on the lookout for fresh family fun in the Helderberg that goes beyond the usual mall offerings, you’ll be excited to hear that Freedom Adventure Park has confirmed its new Somerset West location.
The news has been building on their social channels and the mall’s site, with the brand teasing a “South African first” — a fully themed interactive park unlike anything they’ve done before. Set to open at Shop 21 on the Ground Floor, this addition is part of Somerset Mall’s major expansion and Phase Two family-focused developments.
Adventure, the Freedom way
Freedom Adventure Park already operates popular flagship venues in Tokai and Canal Walk, offering a premium indoor adventure destination packed with activities for all ages and energy levels.
Now the brand is bringing that same energy to Somerset West. While the park itself will feature the fun experiences Freedom is known for, the company has also teased a brand-new activity that it describes as “a South African first, fully themed and unlike anything we’ve done before.” For now, exactly what that attraction will be remains a closely guarded secret.
It promises to become a great destination for family outings, kids’ birthday parties, school groups, and team-building events right in the heart of Somerset West.
What to expect next
While exact opening dates and full details are still under wraps, the space is coming together beautifully at the mall.
Another encouraging sign that the opening is getting closer is that Freedom Adventure Park has officially started recruiting staff for its Somerset West location. The company is currently hiring baristas, front-of-house staff and back-of-house staff, inviting enthusiastic locals to join the team ahead of the launch.
Trading hours are expected to align closely with Somerset Mall’s schedule. I’ll be keeping a close eye on updates regarding launch specials, online bookings, and when the signage finally goes up.
Helderberg families, get ready — more freedom, more fun is heading our way soon.
UPDATE
With the opening now confirmed, I was also able to step inside Freedom Adventure Park ahead of the launch and see the finished Somerset Mall attraction for myself. Read the first look here.
